The Future of Microsoft Business Solutions

The current Microsoft Business Solutions suite of products includes Great Plains, Solomon, Axapta, Navision, and CRM.  As Microsoft acquired these products over the past few years, a plan was developed to capture the finest aspects of all the products and create a new best of breed product that incorporates the latest in client and server technology along with the greatest product features and provides a smooth transition for users of the existing products.  The creation of this next generation product was known as Project Green.

Microsoft has recently announced the name that will replace Microsoft Business Solutions and become the new brand – Microsoft Dynamics.  Under the Microsoft Dynamics brand, the products will have the following names:

• Microsoft Dynamics CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
• Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
• Microsoft Dynamics SL (Solomon)

The Dynamics name was chosen after extensive market research and represents the energy and motion that moves businesses forward.  Additionally, it suggests the idea of flexibility and adaptability because something that is dynamic is always changing and reflects the environment it performs in.
